DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Generate employment opportunities for ASB students by establishing and maintaining productive employer partnerships.
  • Collaborate and promote Career Planning services through inclass presentations, student organization outreach, and New Student Orientation
  • Counsel students individually and in groups to achieve career readiness and to become familiar with as many students as possible.
  • Market Career Planning services and programs to business and industry, as well as nonprofit and internal constituencies, by developing programs, targeting mailers, attending promotional events, presenting information and workshops at various business events.
  • Developing and sustaining partnerships for placements and corporate connect.
  • Assist students in all aspects of the job search including resume writing, interviewing techniques and job referrals.
  • Contact business and industry to develop reciprocally beneficial partnerships for jobs, internships and opportunities.
  • Develop an active oncampus business and industry presence. Assist with maintaining employer database(s). Maintain student files as needed. Submit monthly report.
  • Provide targeted career information and resources for specific majors and interest groups to students, alumni, faculty, and staff as needed.
  • Attend seminars and other training opportunities for professional development.

Requirement and Qualifications

  • Student centered professional in higher education with the ability and experience to interact and support a diverse student body in a positive, friendly, and welcoming manner.
  • Master's degree preferably MBA or PGDM.
  • Flexible and comfortable with adapting to change
  • 4+ years' work experience in job development and marketing required, as well as previous work experience building employer relations in a higher education setting. Well informed of labour market trends, employer needs and best practices in career services. Experience with electronic career management systems required. Familiar with social media platforms. Computer proficiency required. Excellent presentation, networking and communication skills. Collaborative and team oriented working style.
  • Familiar with analytics, data science, operations, consulting, management, technology job markets as is previous experience in career counseling, marketing, workshop planning or administration.
  • Understand the career development opportunities and challenges affecting the constituents, consisting of a diverse population.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and administrative skills, as well as strong skills in written and oral expression.
  • Proactive with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to draft documents and correspondence
  • Strong numeracy skills and ability to analyze complex numerical data
  • Methodical, detail oriented and flexible approach to work, maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and the ability to work on new systems
  • Ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders in a professional and assured manner
