    Mission Statement:


    Hitachi Energy's ESS (Enterprise Software Solution) business unit is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Linux and Automation Engineer to join our growing team.

    In this role, you will play a pivotal role in automating and streamlining our IT processes, leveraging your expertise in Linux administration, cloud platforms, and automation tools.

    Your Responsibilities:

    Automation Expertise:

    ​Design, develop, and implement robust automation solutions for Linux infrastructure and application deployments using Jenkins. Automate routine tasks and processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual workload. Integrate automation tools with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure,) for infrastructure as code (IaC) deployments.
    Continuously improve existing automation scripts and develop new ones based on evolving needs. Maintain a deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and best practices for deployment automation using Jenkins.

    Linux Administration:

    Manage and maintain a diverse Linux environment, encompassing various flavors and distributions. Troubleshoot complex Linux system issues and implement effective resolutions. Ensure optimal performance, security, and stability of Linux servers.

    Cloud Proficiency:

    Demonstrate a strong understanding of cloud platforms and their related services (e.g., compute, storage, networking). Integrate cloud platforms with automation tools for efficient infrastructure provisioning and management.

    Configuration Management:

    Utilize Ansible to configure and manage Linux servers, ensuring consistency and compliance across environments.

    Additional Skills:

    Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in Linux, automation tools (Jenkins, Ansible), and cloud platforms.

    Collaborate effectively with developers, operations teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful automation implementation. Document automation processes clearly and concisely for future reference and knowledge sharing. Possess excellent scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell). Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

    Your Background:

    Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

    10+ years of experience in Linux system administration with in-depth knowledge of various Linux flavors.

    Proven experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline development and deployment automation.

    Strong hands-on experience implementing deployments through Jenkins.

    Proficiency in Ansible for configuration management.

    Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a must.

    Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools is a plus.

    Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
