Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and interactive biology lectures, labs, and other instructional activities that meet course objectives and promote student learning.
Develop and implement effective teaching strategies and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and backgrounds.
Assess student learning outcomes through assignments, quizzes, exams, and other evaluation methods, providing timely feedback to students to support their academic progress.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated to participate and excel in their studies.
Utilize technology and educational resources to enhance the teaching and learning experience, including virtual labs, multimedia presentations, and online discussion forums.
Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the biology program.
Provide academic advising and support to students, offering guidance on course selection, career pathways, and academic goals.
Stay current with developments in the field of biology, incorporating relevant research findings and advancements into course content.
Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and faculty committees as required.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant data, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Master's or doctoral degree in Biology or a related field from a recognized institution. PhD preferred.
Previous teaching experience at the college or university level, with a strong background in undergraduate biology courses.
Deep understanding of biological concepts and principles across various subfields, including molecular biology, genetics, ecology, and evolution.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
Passion for teaching and mentoring students, with a commitment to fostering critical thinking skills, scientific inquiry, and curiosity about the natural world.
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a collegial academic environment.
Proficiency in educational technology and online learning platforms is desirable.
Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom and campus community.
Willingness to engage in scholarly activities, such as research, publication, or professional presentations, as appropriate.
Flexibility to adapt teaching methods and schedules to accommodate the needs of students and the department.
