Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) and PostgreSQL to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2-7 years of relevant experience in database administration, with a focus on MSSQL and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain MSSQL and PostgreSQL database environments, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.
Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related tools.
Monitor database performance and implement performance tuning strategies as necessary.
Implement and maintain database backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.
Perform database schema changes and migrations as needed.
Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures.
Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum two years of Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012/2014/2016/2019/2022 DBA experience.
Experience with SQL Server Always On availability groups
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
Experience supporting multiple production, QA, and development servers.
Good Transact SQL skills – ability to write and tune complicated stored procedures and views utilizing inner and outer joins, etc.
Experience with large databases (> 250 GB).
Experience supporting SQL Server 2008/2012/2014/2016/2019/2022 replication.
Experience in new installation, upgrade, configuration of SQL Server and its components.
Performance tuning experience.
Cloud experience on any platform (Azure/AWS) with Azure preferred.
2-4 years of client-server experience with emphasis on SQL programming.
Experience recovering databases after hardware or other catastrophic failures.
Good customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in MSSQL and/or PostgreSQL administration.
Experience with other database technologies such as MySQL, Oracle, or MongoDB.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
