- Support the general ledger accounting team by managing the daily accounting operations including responsibilities within accounting for payroll expense, prepaid expenses, inventory and cost of goods sold, and operating expenses
- Establish team goals and conduct performance reviews of accounting team members
- Be the key point of contact for the broader finance organization for areas of responsibility
- Perform various month-end tasks including reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations and other duties as assigned
- Identify and resolve open reconciliation items and escalate issues in a timely manner
- Support, adhere to, and help maintain strong internal control policies and procedures
- Identify and drive opportunities for process improvements including the automation of key responsibilities
- Provide supporting schedules and documentation to internal and external auditors
- Effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate with varying levels of employees and management to drive sound business decisions
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing an accounting team responsible for month-end close tasks
- Experience operating effective internal controls meeting Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements and supporting external audits.
- Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP)
- Experience with cloud-based ERP/financial systems
- Experience with intercompany transactions
- Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills and work ethic
- Experience with NetSuite
- Experience with accounting/financial reporting at a SaaS company
- Experience with Wdesk (Workiva)
- Previous experience creating and editing macros
- CA or CPA preferred

Accounting Manager, General Ledger
Toast is driven by building the restaurant platform that helps restaurants adapt, take control, and get back to what they do best: building the businesses they love. The Accounting Manager will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and will provide support to the CAO organization by reviewing journal entries, and account reconciliations as well as performing ad hoc duties as needed for the accounting team. We are looking for candidates with an accounting or finance degree and management experience working for a publicly traded company.
