Description
Postdoctoral fellowship positions are available immediately in the fundamental materials modelling team at BASF.


The positions are based in our Mumbai office and will be part of the global team of researchers situated in Europe, Asia and North America specializing in accelerating conventional materials modelling with data driven approaches.


Under this program you will in addition have a unique opportunity to actively take part in several of our ongoing outstanding academic collaborations around the world.

Positions are initially for two years, renewed annually based on mutual agreement.


Main Tasks

  • Provide stateofart ideas and solutions while working in a diverse team of chemists, physicists, data scientists and experimentalists.
  • Carry out independent research work in close synergy with global team members, present findings, write scientific reports and papers.
  • With provided guidance and support, you are expected to develop required conceptual and technical expertise in topics like data driven catalysis research, Machine learned complex force fields, AI assisted workflow automation etc.

Minimum Educational Qualification and Experience

QUALIFICATION
Ph D or equivalent in Quantum/Theoretical/ Computational Chemistry

OR


WORK EXPERIENCE
0-3 years (not mandatory)


TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong expertise in electronic structure calculation methods
  • Strong programming background in python and experience with structure manipulation libraries and workflow management infrastructures preferred.
  • Experience with topics like heterogenous catalysis, electrocatalysis, energy storage materials are desired.
  • Experience with data driven materials research and machine learning methods are plus.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS


Passion to work closely with our experimental groups to take advantage of the available experimental data and guide the experimental design from theory.
