Your Role and Responsibilities
The Education Communications and Marketing Professional is a member of the Global Marketing and Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility discipline responsible for protecting and enhancing IBM's brand across the world.
This individual plays a key role in advancing initiatives that complement both product and corporate reputation agendas by amplifying the company's progress and innovation on education and skills.
They engage audiences across private and public sectors, business partners, influencers, alumni and the public at large.They develop communications narratives, marketing plans and strategies, with a strong focus on storytelling, that promote IBM's leadership on education and skills.
This professional will use a variety of analytics, influencer and social listening tools to target stories and content to reach the right audiences in the right ways.
Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with key members of the media.
- Create and maintain a pipeline of compelling story ideas; translating technical and business innovations into clear, compelling narratives.
- Prepare and media train spokespeople.
- Able to build crossdisciplinary networks to contribute detailed content and expertise as needed for effective communications.
- Establish deep understanding of IBM's strategies and priorities on education and skills.
- Implement and contribute to communications strategies for the company in the education arena.
- Execute marketing strategies that create meaningful relationships with our audiences
- Collaborate with the larger marketing and communications team to drive crossbusiness campaigns and programs
- 7+ years of proven experience developing and delivering media relations and/or marketing programs in a corporate or agency setting
- Superb writing style
- English fluency
- Proven experience in communications and marketing for a multinational company and media relations expertise in the area
- Thorough understanding of the latest communications and marketing trends, social media platforms, and rich storytelling techniques
- Growth mindset, with creative problemsolving skills and a positive attitude
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Expertise on developing global and multicountry strategies
- Experience driving media engagement via social media platforms a plus.
- Agency experience
- Prior experience with education programs
- Previous experience with executive stakeholder management, driving business objectives
- Bilingual
