Job Summary:


A Critical Care Nurse, also known as an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse, is responsible for providing specialized care to critically ill patients in an ICU or other critical care settings.

They play a pivotal role in monitoring and managing patients with severe medical conditions.


Responsibilities:


Patient Assessment and Monitoring:
Conduct thorough assessments of critically ill patients, including monitoring vital signs, neurological status, and respiratory functions.
Continuously monitor and interpret data from medical equipment, such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, and intravenous lines.
Recognize changes in patient conditions and respond promptly to any deterioration.


Medication and Treatment Administration:
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions prescribed by physicians.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of medications and treatments administered.
Adjust medications and treatments as necessary based on patient response.


Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate closely with the healthcare team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other specialists.
Communicate changes in patient status and conditions to the medical team.
Provide information and emotional support to patients and their families.


Patient Advocacy:
Advocate for patients' rights and ensure their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Address patient and family concerns and provide explanations of treatment plans.


Emergency Response:
Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and life-threatening situations.
Perform CPR and other life-saving interventions as needed.


Infection Control and Safety:
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and sterile environment.
Ensure proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials.


Qualifications:


  • Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) is often preferred.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications.
  • Strong clinical skills, particularly in the management of critically ill patients.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work under highpressure situations and make quick, informed decisions

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
₹25, ₹30,000.00 per month


Supplemental pay types:

  • Overtime pay
