Introduction:


The core responsibility of the Learning AVP within the BIA Audit Practices is to support the BIA Head of Learning and Learning VPs to deliver a best in class learning and development programme that delivers dynamic career pathways for BIA Colleagues as part of the global Pillar 3 BIA Strategy.

The role holder will therefore be support the embedment and delivery of the Global Learning Plan. This includes supporting the embedment and delivery of the learning pathways.

The role holder requires a level of SME knowledge and depth of experience in learning practices and an understanding of BIA Methodology / Auditing.

What will you be doing?

A PP&L AVP can be involved in all aspects of BIA Learning, BIA Methodology and Regulatory engagement, including:

  • Facilitation, programme management and evaluation of global grade-aligned pathways (Analyst-Director). Work with PPL team to review data reporting from Progression tool and use to support development discussions with key audit lead stakeholders, for their teams.
  • Support the Global technical and behavioural training plan, including training needs analysis, sourcing internal learning interventions; organise delivery of these interventions and evaluation effectiveness. Share learning with wider PPL team and provide regular updates to PPL line manager on progress to plan.
  • Support the implementation and development of learning practices and BIA Strategy related methodology changes.
  • Demonstrate an appreciation or reasonable understanding of BIA methodology, its impact on the BIA Learning Plan in a period of increased regulatory scrutiny on the BIA Methodology.
  • Support the development and delivery of technical internal audit training to BIA colleagues including the embedment of the Progression tool and training necessary for the methodology and other changes to deliver BIA delivery and impact enhancements.
  • Facilitation and evaluation of the use of pyschometrics tools available to Barclays colleagues such as Insights Discovery programmes. Identify how such tools could be used to effectively develop capabilities across the teams and develop audit delivery skills.
  • Facilitation and evaluation of BIA's Deeper Self Awareness module with audit leaders and share good practice with wider leadership team. Update PPL lead on any good practices identified.
  • Support the management Faculty Development Programme (FDP) to maintain pool of internal coaches. Evaluate effectiveness of the programme.
  • Facilitate and evaluate use of team development days.
  • Facilitate career development workshops to support career pathways of all colleagues.
  • Act as "ambassador" to an assigned part of BIA, working with the teams to understand and develop tailored quality and training interventions where necessary.
  • Provide expert advice to BIA colleagues on BIA methodology, audit risk and regulators' expectations of internal audit functions.
  • Benchmarking to peer organisations for best practice.
  • Provide complete, accurate and timely information for BAC reporting.

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of three years relevant work experience, operating in either an audit role, HR/development role or operational/business manager role.
  • Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
  • Suitable applicant must have a Bachelor degree qualification, in any discipline.

  • Proven track record of internal audit experience
  • Operate as a team member and be able to work collaboratively with all colleagues inperson and virtually.
  • Strong organisational skills, strong attention to detail; commitment to develop others.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written; able to present ideas and recommendations to others and facilitate learning content in a formal and informal environment.
  • Use data analytics to identify how learning could be delivered more effectively; report using data
