PRIMARY SKILLS:

Mandatory:

1 to 3 years of experience. Experience should include capacity planning, performance tuning, storage management, backup and recovery, managing schemas, report generation and DB clustering technologies.
Operating system experience in Windows and Linux.
Oracle management tools (RMAN, Data pump).
The ability to successfully manage and deliver multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.

Preferred:

Oracle Certified DB Professional (OCP)
DB design (modelling and normalisation)
Experience with features such as Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), ASM and Active Data Guard.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for upgrades, performance monitoring, installations, managing replications, diagnosing system problems, disaster recovery testing and maintaining user accessibility.
Ensure DB availability.
Resolving complex issues involving database performance, database capacity, resiliency, stability, replication, and other key aspects of distributed database technology.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans.
Create a reliable backup strategy. Ensure database backups are appropriately executed and periodic restorations are exercised to ensure backup quality.
Providing Oracle 11g/12c/19c database administration, database security and production support, primarily in a UNIX environment
Managing physical database design and implementation, database security implementation and monitoring.
Assist the infrastructure team in sizing hardware used for the DB.
Defining, documenting, and maintaining Oracle DBA team processes.
Researching and recommending solutions that best meet business needs and enterprise operational requirements
Identification of bottle necks and deadlock issues.
Ensure SLA's & operational KPI's are met, working as necessary with internal and external support functions when major incidents occur
Reporting to management on the Oracle DBA team activities.
