Job Summary:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the movement of goods and materials within the organization. This includes managing the flow of inventory, coordinating transportation and logistics activities, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
The Logistics Manager is also responsible for managing a team of logistics and transportation staff, as well as negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure the best prices and terms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee logistics activities to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Manage the flow of inventory and ensure that it is at optimal levels
- Coordinate transportation and logistics activities, including scheduling and routing
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure the best prices and terms
- Manage a team of logistics and transportation staff
- Monitor and analyze transportation and logistics data to identify areas for cost savings
- Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Lead problemsolving efforts to resolve logistics issues as they arise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management or related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in logistics management
- Strong leadership, communication, and problemsolving skills
- Proven experience in managing a logistics team
- Knowledge of transportation and logistics regulations and industry standards
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify cost savings opportunities
- Experience with inventory management and logistics software
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
Physical Demands:
This is a largely sedentary role, however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
