Logistics Officer/coordinator


The Logistics officer/coordinator is responsible for managing domestic & international shipments, identifying trends across global transportation methods and practices, providing visibility through shipments/projects and tools, and ensuring that internal and external customers' needs are met and that company policy and international trade compliance regulations are adhered to.


  • NOTE: this person is likely to be located in the USA or that general region to cover/deal with other time zones of customer and supply chain partners.
  • This Job requires an extensive understanding of international shipping and documentation needs with experts knowledge in Cross trade, Freezone, Conformity Certification, and all three modes of transportation

What you'll do:


  • Responsible for On-Time Shipment for transportation
  • Overcome roadblocks to ensure shipment is made in line with internal & external customers/project requirements.
  • Well aware of export/import paperwork & permits
  • Responsible for courier shipment domestic & internal, able to create the DHL, UPS, and FedEx labels and paperwork.
  • Knowledge of FZE & TIBs paperwork and inspections.
  • Continuous internal communication with global pole managers/carriers
  • Implementation of tools and dashboards for metric visibility and communication
  • Coordinating and communicating shipment delivery requirements with freight forwarders
  • Primary contact for global affiliates in reference to the logistics process
  • Responsible for timely, accurate and complete record keeping
  • Support standardization of transportation processes across the region
  • Responsible for open orders to ship, and inform about the transit time to end customer and overseeing shipment until POD is obtained.
  • Keeping the tracking of shipment and reporting transportation metrics
  • Maintaining records of import and export shipments.
  • Responsible for the paperwork to all the orders need to be with correct documents and properly labeled
  • Ensure that warehousing, packaging and transportation requirements are met
  • Partnership with the warehouse area to implement improvements in the process
  • Biweekly calls with carriers to raise any concerns
  • Good knowledge of Regularity certification, permit, and approvals.

What you must have:


  • Demonstrated logistics leadership of multiple facilities in a similar industry
  • Experience in logistics or supply chain modeling & simulation.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fastpaced changing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a crossfunctional, global team environment.
  • Willing to travel domestically up to 20% of the time.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP system a plus.
  • Experience in hightech industry; telecommunications a plus
  • Strong initiative and perseverance
  • Strong ambition for continuous learning, and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Very proficient in MS suite of tools
  • Ability to adapt and respond effectively to changes in situation or information.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience working in logistics, engineering, or supply chain management; advanced degree and/or relevant professional certifications a plus Certification in DGR
