Role Description


The Capital and Liquidity Management ("CLM") Analyst reviews and provides financial management data and/or analysis and performs the associated stress testing, where relevant, to support the effective management of capital and liquidity positions, in line with the bank's policies and regulatory requirements.

The CLM Analyst may perform the required adjustments to the capital position (as appropriate), calculate shortfalls to internal and external target ratios and highlight risks to ensure these are managed appropriately.

They may also assist in executing the bank's long-term and structured issuance programs and where relevant, provide support for the implementation of strategies/solutions to optimize funding for the bank and devise or maintain structures to improve the liquidity of business assets.

They may develop and execute risk management strategies and manage risks within authorized limits, where relevant.


Function Description
Treasury Markets and Investments (TMI) is market facing division with-in group treasury responsible for some functions including:

  • Pool: Cash management and external derivative execution on behalf of Treasury
  • Investments: Managing the investment portfolio to optimize the return on the bank's liquidity reserve
  • Issuance: Long term debt issuance to support the banks funding plan
  • ALM: Structural risk management for the firm, including Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book

Your roles and responsibilities
As a TMI resource, you will closely engage with the SLR and Pool verticals


The individual's responsibilities include:

  • Provide risk management and analytics support to the trading desk. Be responsible for production and management of daily spreadsheets for NPV computations, Reset Risk, Usage and limit report, RWA usage.
  • Ensuring that daily portfolio changes are in line with expectations (new trades, amendments, disposals, etc.)
  • Trade Capture using systems like ITAP; linking the desks bond and swap trades to ensure hedge accounting.
  • Handling of the trade life cycle in the post execution stage. This also includes working with middle office to resolve any bond/derivative settlement issues from a front office perspective.
  • Cash management ensuring desk positions are fully funded on a daily basis and potentially taking over the cash funding.
  • Production of the flash pnl and trade activity summary
  • Production of the Management Information required for senior management presentations.
  • Drive changes to the existing process to achieve optimum process outcomes. Remediation of some audit point requiring process change.
  • Assist the desk with production of reports and analysis required for ALCO
  • Working on any adhoc tasks e.g., NPA/NTA related matters, working with other support functions to set up a new Counter party (including KYC requirements & documentation), CSA execution.

Your skills and experiences

  • University degree with a quantitative focus (Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics or other life sciences) is of benefit.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in dealing with quantitative finance concepts or supporting a trading desk, or a structuring desk or a trading risk management function.
  • Good experience with Excel and preferably databases / a programming language (Python preferred).
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Strong written, verbal communication skills.
Other skills (good to have, but not a must)

  • Knowledge of Banking concepts is preferred but not a must have. (e.g., Balance Sheet/Asset Liabilities, bank funding products, interest rate risk, market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, capital & liquidity regulation)
  • A quantitative/technical background with understanding of data modeling would be a plus, but not a must have.
  • Ability to interface with demanding stakeholders in business and infrastructure functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
