Ø Manage patients of the department.

Ø Train the par surgical staff, particularly the medical students, on the management of patients of the department.

Ø Conduct research to help improve management of patients.

Ø More Specific Functions.

Ø Establishes rapport w/patients.

Ø Diagnoses health problem of patients.

Ø Treats health problem of patients.

Ø Advises patients and relatives.

Ø Consults supervisors on difficult and complicated cases.

Ø Makes medical recording and prepares reports.

Ø Makes daily rounds to the patients.

Ø Attends and participates in departmental conferences and activities.
