    About The Role

    Rippling is seeking a hands-on staff security engineer to contribute to building the company's security program. The unique product scope of Rippling presents specific security challenges, with a strong management focus on security and compliance.

    As an early team member, you will have a significant role in shaping the direction and priorities of Rippling's security program.

    About the Team

    The security team at Rippling comprises skilled engineers dedicated to pushing the boundaries of security practices. Collaboration with Engineering partners is key to addressing challenges creatively, and the team is committed to redefining traditional security approaches.

    What You'll Do

    • Develop security tools and automations to support Product Security team scalability
    • Threat-model application designs and solutions, and conduct security assessments
    • Review source code and provide guidance for critical application changes
    • Mentor software engineering teams on security best practices
    • Offer hands-on remediation guidance to development teams
    • Establish software development practices that prioritize security
    • Implement security into the Software Development Life Cycle

    Qualifications

    • 8+ years of experience in a product security role
    • Experience in leading architectural changes to address security vulnerabilities
    • Deep understanding of securing web applications
    • Proficiency in Python, React, and Django Rest Framework
    • Experience in manual source code review and embedding security in production code
    • Knowledge of deploying application security tools in CI/CD pipeline
    • Experience in securing the software development lifecycle

    Bonus Points

    • Understanding of SSO, such as OAUTH and SAML
    • Experience in speaking at meetups or conferences
    • Experience in managing a bug bounty program
