About Organisaiton:


LEPRA Society is a pan-India health and development organization working for the people affected by Leprosy and other neglected diseases to transform their lives and overcome poverty, discrimination and disability.

LEPRA endeavors to diagnose, facilitate treatment to those affected and help them to rehabilitate into the mainstream of the society.

LEPRA works in collaborations with the Government and other funding agencies to reach into most inaccessible villages of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh states.


About Research Centre:


The Blue Peter Public Health and Research Centre (BPHRC) was established from the funds raised by a BBC television show for children, 'Blue Peter'.

It is a nodal research centre towards implementing organisation strategic research areas Leprosy, Tuberculosis (TB) and, Lymphatic Filariasis.

The BPHRC functions in line with the above strategic aim of the LS with a clinic and two laboratories (immunology and molecular biology, Microbiology) as core components within the center.

The BPHRC brings uniqueness to LEPRA Society as an NGO with a centrally located laboratory that works closely with clinics and outreach programme across multiple regions in India endemic to leprosy, TB and LF.


About Project:

Molecular characterization of microbial flora and signature metabolites with reference to clinical outcome of infected chronic foot ulcers in leprosy and diabetes


Position:
Technical Assistant

Performing lab experiments like Metabolite extraction, running HPLC, GC, and LC-MS/MS


Reporting to:
Head Research - BPHRC/LEPRA Society


Technical /Area of Expertise:

Experience in handling instruments like HPLC, GC, LC-MS/MS for biochemical analysis of metabolites. Expertise in metabolomics, microbial procedure, sample processing, performing liquid-liquid extraction, data interpretation, and analysis. Also, literature reviews, progress report writing, and scientific report writing.


Period:
appointment for is about 12 months


Education qualification required:


Skills required:


Primary:

Good laboratory practices, Sample handling, Experience in performing chromatography techniques preferably HPLC, GC, and LC-MS/MS, metabolite extraction, and data analysis.


Secondary:
Good communication skills in English, excellent computer knowledge, data entry, analysis, and excellent technical writing skills.


Remunerations:
Rs. 32,000/- per month


Location:
at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus
