Molecular Biology Lab

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operational / Functional:
End to end handling of molecular biology laboratory operations and quality management system as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
Handling of regulatory (NABL) and customer audits in compliance.
Conducting the GMO detection, allergen testing, meat species identification, rapid pathogens and virus testing by RTPCR/ PCR/ ELISA based methods.
Designing and conducting R&D projects and allocating resources and timelines. 5.

Verifying & maintaining all the logbooks and quality documents in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025: 2017.

Handling all procurement, rate negotiation, vendor selection and inventory management.
Understanding of cost sheet preparation for the test method development.
Maintain in-time supply of all laboratory consumables and maintain the record for the same.
Providing test feasibilities and technical inputs to the customer queries.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Implement, monitor and verify closure of non-conformances raised during the audit.
Plan and organize annual trainings & IQC schedules. Handling and conducting of IQC, ILC and PT programs.
Handling of PT samples and qualifying for the same.
Arranging the in-time calibration, servicing and repairs of the instruments in Mol. Bio. Lab and maintaining the record for the same.
Maintaining intermediate checks of major instruments.
Monitoring of storage, maintenance and discard of remnant samples at controlled condition and its record verification.
Supervising the environmental hygiene, cleanliness of the molecular biology lab and verifying relevant records.
CRMs, Critical consumables evaluation, preparation and maintenance.
Perform internal audits for strict maintenance of lab quality management system.

Technical skills, knowledge and experience:

Proficient in handling GMOs, meat speciation, rapid pathogen and allergen testing.
Well versed with major instrument like, PCR, RTPCR and ELISA.
Exposure in handling experiments on various label claim studies.
Communicate weekly lab updates to the business head.
Establish connections in the market with vendors, competitors etc.
Capacity building and skill development of the molecular biology team as per the market demand and changing regulatory requirement.
Enhancing the capabilities of the molecular biology laboratory by expanding the scope of testing services.
Preparation of SOPs and method validation reports.
Interpretation on correct test results and perform troubleshooting activities. 10. Sharing experimental evidences to satisfy queries raised by internal or external client.
Risk identification, action plan, execution and monitoring in the molecular biology laboratory.
Able to work cross functionally.
