Finance Controller - Ahmedabad, India - Adani Group
Description
PurposeIncumbent is to lead Finance function at Tanzania Port and ensure sustainable growth. Finance Controller (FC) has direct influence at strategic decision making level. Working with CEOs, promoters, shareholders, JV Partners, authorities and other stakeholders.
Responsible for the development, implementation and management of all financial, accounting, controlling and investment activities dealing specifically with the Port & logistics business.
Maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure proper recording and reporting of financial transactions, assets and liabilities. Formulates and implements financial strategies aimed at optimizing the use of the Company's resources. Advises the CEO on CAPEX and budgeting & ensures preparation of financial statements. Prepares analytical reports for presentation to the CFO APSEZ.1.
Cash flow Management:
Entire cycle of billing, following up with customers for payments, optimal payment schedules with vendors and contractors, employee payments, capex payments.
Timely reconciliation of Customer accounts for quicker dispute resolution and push for improving recovery of overdue.

Resource Management:
Financial closure for the new projects.
Arranging funds from Holding Company as per requirement.
Meeting funds requirement of business (Capex & Opex) in timely manner.

Revenue Enhancement:
Ensuring timely and adequate billing without missing any dues to be recovered. Identifying revenue extraction opportunities. Scrutinizing contracts to identify revenue increasing initiators weather with customers or with authorities. Implementing along with CEO and corporate affairs departments, initiatives that will enhance revenue.

Cost Reduction & Process Improvement:
Improving budgeting process & budgetary Controls
Streamlining Month end provisioning for expenses/income for faster closing of accounts

Other Key Activities:
Financial Model for new projects / bidding purpose.
Tax plan review on quarterly basis and other tax issues whenever crops up.
Support in STRAP document and its updating periodically.
Review of Capex programs and Completed projects original business.
Financial due diligence for new acquisitions, as required.
Post take over migration and follow-up for indemnity etc.
Post take over integration of Financial Processes and System.

Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
7.
Build alliances, partnerships & deep relationship with Vendors, Consultants and Customers.
8.
Oversight of accounting, finance, strategy, building infrastructure and implementing internal controls
9.
Lead banking activities, developing relationships with appropriate external parties
10.
Ability to provide concrete financial advice on business transactions identifying risks and opportunities
11.
Ability to be a natural leader and a track record of having selected the right fit-for-purpose talent while building large teams.
Education & Experience Requirement
Educational Qualification
CA/ ICWA /MBA Finance
Relevant Experience
20+ Years of Experience in F&A, preferably in a site.
Essential:
Accounting systems, budgeting and financial reporting, accounts payable & receivable, Direct - indirect taxation management at large corporate, annual budgeting, cashflow management, capex budgeting and financial modelling.
Desirable:
International experience.
Experience of leading team for more than 5 years at corporate level
