Role Overview:
Guide and direct all department in TN on matters relating to EHS as stipulated in OTIS EH&S Policy and as directed by Manager.
Conduct periodical safety committee meetings, facilitate review of issues and maintain minutes, also participate in Area Quality Council (AQC).
Conduct safety standdown day for all subcontractors employee, their owner for strengthening subcontractor management system.
Ensure Prestart Go / Nogo for sites
Periodical site visit, random audits & Fatality Prevention audits (FPA)
Highlight & suggest corrective measures for safety violation / lapse, with the help of department Manager and supervisors.
Accompany leadership team during their field safety visits and audit in and suggest improvement.
Ensure recognition and good safety behavior and initiate disciplinary action for safety violations
Investigate all accident / incident along with department representatives, submit RCA to Manager suggesting corrective measures. Maintain records and statistics on accident.
Plan & conduct safety training to all new entrants. Including subcontractors & their employees
Periodical retraining on new procedure & processes
Update &Upkeep the following records.
Area Safety Committee minutes.
Safety Training records.
Toolbox Talk (TBT) attendance.
Safety audits, observation and compliance.
Accident Report& investigations.
Safety violations & citations.
PPE issued & receipts.
Contact FPA training/retraining to all employees & subcontractors for their certification.
Certification for portable electrical tools as per company procedure.
Coordinating with the construction/service/modernization department for certifying hoisting tools.
Certification of employees for FPA procedure.
Organize Defensive driving training for company registered 2 wheeler riders

Conduct specialized training

Hoisting training & certification.
Behavior Based Safety (BBS) training
Stop work authority (SWA) training
Educate workmen on WWJSS, coordinate with dept heads for implementation of WWJSS points for 100% implementation at job sites
Plan yearly requirement of PPE /safety Equipment, issue & control.
