About the role


Play a key role as a Scrum Master developing NCR's APTRA Advance NDC product that will serve several of our major banking customers in the Financial Services industry.

Guiding a local team, you will facilitate development of new modules, features and improvements along with issue resolution.

Your key day-today responsibilities will include:

  • Guiding your teams on how to use Agile/Scrum & SAFe practices and values to meet deliverables.
  • Aligning your teams with the Solution Train and established common processes used by your local team and the offshore teams, coordinating dependencies and other work items with other teams within the wider organization.
  • Communicating program or project goals, status, requirements and deliverables to all team members, stakeholders, and sponsors.
  • Coaching and developing team members as necessary to assure common understanding of the Scaled Agile, Software Development process and project goals.
  • Providing feedback and suggestions for the continuous improvement of the common and local team processes.
  • Establishing milestones and monitoring adherence to the Product Increment / Cadence commitments.
  • Fostering communication and productive relationships with Product Managers, Product Owners, team members and other stakeholders.
  • Maintaining and sharing an uptodate awareness of industry trends, best practices and exploring those that would benefit our business.
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Supporting and educating the Product Manager, Product Owner and other stakeholders, especially with respect to reviewing and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Providing support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible and leading by example.
Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge and/or experience with Scaled Agile development.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Automated Testing.
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
  • Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc)
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
Preferred Qualifications

  • First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I).
  • Second level Scrum Master certification (CSP, PSM II)
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, etc
  • Experience of facilitating a Scrum of Scrums.
  • Experience of working with teams located at multiple geographic locations.
  • Working experience of 'Product' based organization projects.
  • Qualified SA (SAFe Agilest) or good knowledge of Scaled Agile approaches such as SAFe, LeSS etc.
  • Experience using Jira and AgileCraft to manage development/bug tasks.
