Your role as a Data Scientist

Undertaking data collection, preprocessing and analysis
Building models to address business problems
Presenting information using data visualization techniques
Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
Analyse large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
Build predictive models and machinelearning algorithms
Combine models through ensemble modelling
Present information using data visualization techniques
Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
Research and develop statistical learning models for data analysis
Collaborate with product management and engineering departments to understand company needs and devise possible solutions
Keep uptodate with latest technology trends
Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers
Implement new statistical or other mathematical methodologies as needed for specific models or analysis
Optimize joint development efforts through appropriate database use and project design

Enough about us, let's talk about you If you are someone with:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Engineering or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred
4+ years' practical experience as a Data Scientist
Experience with programming languages such as Java/Python an asset
Forecasting & Optimization algos and Knowledge of Optimisation Research, Solvers like Gurobi etc is a huge plus
Understanding of advance machinelearning algorithms and operations research
Deep Knowledge of SQL and Python; familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ is an asset
Experience in using Python, Statistical and data mining techniques
Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop)
Analytical mind and business acumen
Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
Extensive background in data mining and statistical analysis
Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation
Excellent pattern recognition and predictive modelling skills
Problemsolving aptitude
Excellent communication and presentation skill
