    Description

    Job Purpose:

    • Strong focus on minimizing cargo damages / claims.
    • Enhancing internal control for Safety and Quality of Cargo to/from Customers.
    • Emphasis on Loss Prevention & Improving Customer satisfaction.
    • Ensuring Operational Control & Efficiency for quicker vessel turnaround in Port.
    • Implementing Best Industry practices through Training and development.
    • Utilizing Resources effectively for Break Bulk & Liner Business.
    • Providing Administrative support & Managing Vendors efficiently.
    • Planning for Succession & Supporting Key personnel.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Port Operations:
    • Prepare port captain operation reports for vessel attendance to review feedback and track progress in weak areas.
    • Assist vessel operators and port captains in maintaining quality and safety standards while promoting continuous improvement.
    • Thoroughly investigate operational incidents, take preventive measures, and monitor final stow plans to avoid recurrence.
    • Cultivate positive relationships with customers and service providers, addressing customer concerns promptly and effectively.
    • Contribute to stevedore training and education to meet Group's standards.
    • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure quality and customer-focused operations in compliance with global standards and safety regulations.
    • Terminal Services:
    • Regularly update port equipment and limitations at each load/discharge port.
    • Training:
    • Develop and execute a structured training program for all vendors.

    Skills & Experience Required:

    • Master / Chief Mate / 2nd officer with chief mate license of an foreign going ship.
    • 3-5 years of experience in Handling Break Bulk cargo, especially Steel commodities. (Experience in Project cargo handling is a plus).
    • Candidate age limit of 38 years.
    • Demonstrates dynamism and proactiveness.
    • Willingness and availability for extensive travel on short notice to attend vessels.
    • Proficient in Vessel Planning, Priority Setting, Cargo Handling, and Stowage.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Business acumen and expertise in Port Operations.
    • Proficiency in English & Hindi communication. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
