Job Description and Qualifications

II. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • This role serves as Senior Planner on large to medium projects and provides direct supervision to team of Project Controls personnel, or as a Subject Manager Expert (SME) for the entire Project Controls Team
  • Use Air Products planning IT systems and functional discipline work processes to provide reliable and consistent reporting to ensure that we can meet the project, regional/global project portfolio and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with execution team to develop and develop totally integrated engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) schedules/cost control programs aligned to the execution scope and strategy during the bid phase through award and execution, ensuring the growth of Air Products businesses whilst consistently delivering on project commitments in terms of cost and schedule.
  • Develop and maintain accurate progress & earned value measurement systems for engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning to ensure credible control throughout the project execution phase.

III. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate engineer with 11 years to 14 years of project planning experience.

  • Create, monitor, and analyze project schedules in accordance with standard of best project practice aligned with PMI and AACE practices.
  • Develop Project planning package and approval from stakeholders.
  • Develop Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures and align with Advance Work Packaging methodologies.
  • Must have a track record of delivering accurate information, reporting and guidance to senior management and client.
  • Track baselines, perform whatif analysis, and develop contingency and recovery plans
  • Resource allocation, loading and leveling
  • Strong project coordination skills with ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Recommend solutions or recovery plans to schedule/cost impact or delays.
  • Describe the characteristics of a good code of account structure and its benefits for both project scheduling and cost control.
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor scopes of work using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for control and integrity.
  • Monitor projects progress, including identifying critical activities and reviewing forecasts and progress achieved to date (after liaising with stakeholders to discuss the progress of the project and addressing any issues that arise)
  • Provide updates to project risk register (identify, monitor & report all risks and issues) to ensure that risks are effectively managed to minimize their impact on schedule, scope, and budget of projects and work with the project team to ensure resolution.
  • Demonstrate the mechanics of project closeout and project archival.
  • Develops leadership/teambuilding skills as well as written and verbal communication skills.

Global Project Planning Experience:
Proven skills and experience of planning of projects on global basis, executed by multiple engineering offices. Understanding of a variety of project types, structures and contract terms


Flexibility. Potential to travel internationally to other regional engineering offices as well as domestically to support project / organizational needs.


Culturally astute. Experience and ability to work with different cultures associated with multi-region project execution, and to therefore achieve success with a multi-cultural team. Experience of Customer and external stakeholder regional cultures, and ability to achieve success with those cultures.

Core competencies:
Commercial and technical acumen, detailed working knowledge of project planning tools and systems. Proven skills in planning coupled with a working knowledge of project management, business development and finance.


IV Tools

  • Proficient in Primavera or other Scheduling / Planning software.
  • Proficient in MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Power Point etc), EVMS tools
  • SAP (equivalent ERP) and EcoSys experience is added advantage.
