As a Product Owner, you will lead a team in direction the design, implementation, and upkeep of Microservices, and Cloud Uplift within the Payments Messaging Platform for ANZ.

Leading your teams' analysts, engineers, quality engineers, as well collaborating with the Designers and Product Owners for integrating solutions, you will define the roadmap for your teams' products and deliveries to ensure they meet customer and stakeholder expectations.

  • Identify, define, and prioritise the product roadmap.
  • Lead a team of Developers, Business analysts, and Test engineers in the build and implementation, including test, integration, and delivery.
  • Utilise strong communication skills to collaborate with external teams in feature delivery, and to identify, and mitigate risks
What will your day look like

Create, maintain, and optimise the Product Backlog for the team
Engage with stakeholders from business and integrating solutions to align on implantation timelines
Lead agile ceremonies (sprint planning, story estimation, retrospectives, etc)
Represent Product and team interest at Tech Area, and Domain summits.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve delivery and test processes and tools.
Engage with team members to identify growth opportunities.
What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
Essential skills

  • Knowledge of Microservice Development and delivery.
  • Understanding of Software development management tools
  • Jira, Confluence.
  • Experience working with Cloud software implementations (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Familiarity with SWIFT MT / ISO 20022 MX message formats and usage of different fields of different types of messages.
  • Knowledge on International payments / Cross Border/Low value payments.
  • Clearing networks (RTGS, Swift) & Payments Processing / Settlement / Reconciliation.
  • Excellent analytical & troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong risk management capabilities.
Desired Skills

  • Proven experience with the Agile Software methodology.
  • Experience tracking deliveries through to implementation against program roadmaps.
  • Skills in delivery software with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proven Experience in microservices such as webbased/client server apps, APIs, etc.

Soft skills:


  • Strong team leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Be a selfmotivated, proactive as well as an active collaborator.
  • Excellent communication, and presentation skills
You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
