Role Description


The Scrum Master is responsible for ensuring a team lives agile values and principles and follows the agreed processes and practices to allow the team to continually improve their performance.

The Scrum Master leads from a position of influence, taking a servant-leadership stance.

Responsibilities include proactively removing blockers to team success, establishing an environment where the team can be effective, and protecting the team from outside interruptions and distractions.

The Scrum Master also acts to ensure a good relationship between the team and Product Owner as well as others outside the team, facilitating meetings and Scrum events, and working with the Product Owner to make sure the upcoming book of work (backlog) is sufficiently defined and ready for the creation of the next product increment (sprint).


As a Scrum Master you will lead the agile teams into success, by actively fostering an agile way of thinking and culture (i.e., Culture of trust, transparency, and empowerment), playing a major role within Data Ingestion team to enable strategic data delivery through ingestion platforms.

Your key responsibilities

  • Exhibits the behaviors of a Lean-Agile Leader with a Lean-Agile Mindset
  • Facilitates the team's progress toward team goals by actively addressing team impediments.
  • Helps the team improve and take responsibility for their actions and build high performing team.
  • Keeps the status and progress of objectives, features up to date in JIRA and maintain Risk and Issues logs
  • Contributes at program level by working with senior stakeholders to improve Agility of overall organization.

Your skills and experience

  • Experience of working in an agile environment, practicing Scrum, Kanban, XP or SAFe and sound understanding of DevOps practices.
  • Ability to create and manage metrics like burndown, burnup, velocity, feature lead time, predictability etc.
  • Effectively facilitate Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews, and retrospectives and contribute to Scrum of Scrum
  • Knowledge and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, Acceptance Test Driven Development, Behaviour Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pair working, Automated Testing,
  • Agile Certification and Strong knowledge of Agile fundamentals, values, manifesto, and practical implementation
  • Experience using tools such as JIRA, TFS, Confluence, and GIT
  • Working experience in technical delivery with technologies like Java, big Data, Spark etc.
  • Strong knowledge and experiences with databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, Organizational skills
  • An analytical mind
  • Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or relevant field
  • Experience of playing a role of Scrum Master and relevant certification

Experience:


  • 712 years of prior working experience in a global banking / insurance/financial organization.
  • Experience or technical knowledge in financial environments is a plus
