Position:
Websphere Application Server Administrator (WAS)


Client Location:
Bangalore

We are seeking a skilled and experienced WebSphere Application Server Administrator to join our dynamic team.

As a WebSphere Application Server Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our WebSphere infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security.


Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Configuration:

  • Install, configure, and maintain WebSphere Application Server environments in both development and production settings.

Performance Monitoring and Tuning:

  • Monitor server performance and proactively address any performance bottlenecks.
  • Conduct performance tuning to optimize the efficiency and responsiveness of the WebSphere infrastructure.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

  • Investigate and resolve issues related to WebSphere Application Server functionality.
  • Provide timely and effective solutions to incidents, ensuring mínimal impact on business operations.

Security Management:

  • Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard the WebSphere infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices.

Backup and Recovery:

  • Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures for WebSphere environments.
  • Test and validate backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity.

Documentation:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the WebSphere infrastructure, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to other team members.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other IT teams to implement crossfunctional solutions.

Patch Management:

  • Keep abreast of WebSphere updates, fixes, and patches.
  • Plan and execute patch management activities in coordination with change management processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a WebSphere Application Server Administrator.
  • Indepth knowledge of WebSphere architecture, installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Jython.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
  • Familiarity with security principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • WebSphere certifications would be a plus.
