Job Summary:


An AC Technician, also known as an Air Conditioning Technician, is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing air conditioning units and systems in various settings such as residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

They ensure that air conditioning systems operate efficiently and effectively to provide comfort and quality air for occupants.


Responsibilities:


  • Installation: Install new air conditioning systems, including ductwork, electrical wiring, and components such as compressors, condensers, and evaporators. Ensure installations comply with manufacturer specifications and local building codes.
  • Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks on air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity. This may include cleaning filters, inspecting coils, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating moving parts, and troubleshooting potential issues.
  • Repairs: Diagnose and repair malfunctioning air conditioning systems. Identify problems such as leaks, mechanical failures, electrical issues, or inadequate cooling/heating, and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
  • Servicing: Conduct routine servicing of air conditioning units to prevent breakdowns and ensure efficiency. This involves inspecting components, testing controls, calibrating thermostats, and adjusting settings as needed.
  • Troubleshooting: Respond to service calls and customer complaints regarding air conditioning issues. Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify the root cause of problems and propose effective repair or maintenance solutions.
  • Replacement: Replace wornout or damaged parts of air conditioning systems, such as motors, fans, capacitors, and thermostats. Select appropriate replacement parts based on system specifications and compatibility.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and industry standards in all aspects of work. Handle refrigerants and hazardous materials according to established protocols.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, maintenance logs, and inventory of spare parts. Provide detailed documentation to customers and supervisors as required.
  • Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers to address their inquiries, explain technical issues, and provide recommendations for improving air conditioning efficiency and comfort. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through quality service delivery.
  • Training: Stay updated on advancements in air conditioning technology, tools, and techniques through ongoing training and professional development activities. Share knowledge and expertise with team members to enhance overall competency.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical training program in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) preferred.
  • Relevant certification or license as an HVAC technician (e.g., EPA 608 certification, HVAC Excellence certification) may be required depending on local regulations.
  • Proven experience working as an AC Technician or in a similar role, preferably in both residential and commercial settings.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and principles of operation.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose complex issues.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks such as lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
  • Effective communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining highquality standards.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required for field service positions.

Salary:
₹10, ₹15,000.00 per month
