ECCU courseware and curricula is nationally accredited by DEAC and recognized by CHEA, NICE and CNSS to meet the national standards of cybersecurity education. ECCU is primarily focused on cybersecurity and offers both a Bachelors (BS) and a Master (MS) degree program. ECCU currently offers its courses on an E-Learning platform (Canvas) and therefore is 100% online.

POSITION
SUMMARY:

The Instructional Technologist is responsible for collaborating with the Dean, Program Chair, and
other Curriculum Designers for the design of online courses. The Instructional Technologist
participates in the design of training materials, course content, and online courses.

The Instructional Technologist is responsible for utilizing instructional technology principles and theories when developing and implementing learning products as well as prototypes into the online course room.

In addition, the Instructional Technologist is responsible for troubleshooting technical problems,maintaining the LMS and ensuring quality assurance within the online course room.

The Instructional Technologist will maintain and evolve the course development standards in coordination with other Curriculum Designers.

FUNCTIONS

AND

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Collaborate with Dean, Program Chair, and other Curriculum Designers to produce courses that
are instructionally sound, interactive at multiple levels, achieves the competencies, and meets the needs of the program.

  • Create and maintain styles, standards, and bestpractices for online course design.
  • Create interactive multimedia elements that incorporate multiple learning styles.
  • Design courses and partake in large scale projects/initiatives.
  • Stays current with emerging technologies to prototype new learner experience designs in
partnership with Curriculum Designers.

  • Leverages instructional technology knowledge and skills to take projects from their conception to the final deliverable with adherence to accreditation and institutional requirements.
  • Identifies requirements for multimedia technologies necessary to produce and enhance online
courses.

  • Meets all deadlines affiliated with each course starts deployment schedule such as: date
management, clone preparation, course pairing, and quality control testing.

  • Accurately maintains digital design files for storage and retrieval.
  • Assumes leadership responsibilities when diagnosing and/or troubleshooting technical problems
in the learning management system.

  • Updates key stakeholders across the institution about selfservice tickets and their implications
on their respective departments.- Serve as a point of contact for the University's LMS, student information, and platform systems.

  • Serve as an advisor to University staff for general technical issues.
  • Prepare and support technology for online testing.
  • Must be willing to work nights if residing outside of the United States depending on time zone.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
- **EXPERIENCE**
AND

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • At least 2 years of experience with technology, platforms and LMS systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing online courses or training.
  • Higher Education experience preferred
Knowledge of HTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and XML. Extensive experience and knowledge of LMS systems

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including but not limited to Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash
Professional, InDesign, Acrobat, and Illustrator.

  • Experience building trainings or courses with Camtasia, Captivate, Articulate Studio, Adobe
Premiere and/or like tools.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problemsolving skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgement, displays initiative, and a strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrates customer service abilities and comfort working with diverse constituents.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and some evenings

CERTIFICATIONS**
AND
LICENSURES:

  • A Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Instructional Technology preferred. EC
  • Council University follows the requirements set by the Department of Education, accrediting
