Role Description:

Deutsche Bank follows an integrated risk management approach under the independent Risk function, which includes Credit Risk Management. The Credit Risk Management team manages credit risk on behalf of Deutsche Bank Group, Corporate and Investment Banking Division. The team manages a broad mix of Corporate and Financial Institution (FI) counterparties across a full commercial
- and investment banking product suite, based on a full overview of credit markets and trends. Experience of analyzing both counterparty types and a good derivative knowledge is required.

Your key responsibilities
Cover a portfolio of Japanese Corporate and/or FI counterparties.

This role will involve managing the portfolio within defined risk parameters, review credit proposals, write credit and rating reports, recommend and (after an appropriate time and formal award of credit authority) co-approve transactions, and negotiate credit related documentation.

Products covered include the full spectrum of commercial banking facilities (committed loans, trade finance) and capital markets products including FX, commodity, interest rate and equity derivatives.


  • Responsibility for managing a portfolio of circa 3040 credit groups (Corporate and/or FI)
  • Identify, understand and manage counterparty
- as well as product risks in your client portfolio

  • Develop and implement counterparty specific derisking strategies
  • Ensure portfolio quality and documentation standards are maintained
  • Monitor market, industry and counterparty developments and develop and adhere to counterparty as well as industry strategies
  • Support business by providing trade & structuring solutions
  • Monitor target markets and undertake duediligence calls and visits
  • Represent CRM in conference calls and business meetings
  • Interact and coordinate with other Control and Back Office functions within the DB organization
  • Support regulatory audits and related data management exercises related to your portfolio
  • Maintain highest risk management standards by adhering to risk policies and procedures
  • Contribute to improvements in CRM processes with an aim to raise efficiency

Your skills and experience:


  • Ability to engage with business and help/ guide their transactions/ structures such that they can be facilitated within the bank's risk appetite
  • Ability to think laterally, to manage transactions independently, identify key risks in and provide recommendations to senior management in the context of bank's risk appetite & 'risk versus reward' balance
  • Good derivatives knowledge
  • Familiarity with providing standalone ratings for counterparties or structured trades
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, present factual information in a structured, clear, confident and concise way
  • High selfmotivation and hungry to learn

Qualifications

Essential:


  • Minimum Undergraduate Degree
  • Formal credit training

Desirable:


  • CFA

Experience

Essential:


  • At least 3 years Credit Risk experience
  • Broad product knowledge across
commercial banking and derivatives

  • Experience with documentation

Desirable:


  • Preferably within an investment banking credit environment
  • Overseas assignment
  • Japanese language skills

  • Strong credit skills
  • Good knowledge of principal risk mitigating documentation techniques
