Duties
Basic Function of the Position:
The position is located in the Foreign Commercial Service (FCS) Office, American Centre, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi. The incumbent will report directly to a senior Locally Employed Staff (LES) Commercial Specialist and Commercial Officer. The incumbent will provide a limited range of FCS services to U.S. clients and host country businesses in his/her assigned industry sectors.
S/he will assist in the development of market entry and export strategies; monitor and report trade opportunities; research and analyze market trends; and draft market research reports.
S/he will help recruit delegations of host-country buyers to attend trade shows, and s/he will promote the United States as a premier destination for foreign direct investment.
S/he will build working relationships with working-level contacts among private companies, industry chambers, and government officials in the United States and the host country, to gather information, find opportunities, advocate on behalf of U.S.
companies, or seek information about trade barriers or changing regulations that negatively impact U.S. exports.S/he will report all client interactions in the FCS customer relations database and respond to client inquiries in a timely manner.
S/he will provide administrative back-up support to the FCS Front Office on an ongoing rotational basis, for telephone coverage, clerical support, and other administrative tasks as needed.
The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
This position requires two years of experience in the fields of marketing, trade promotion, economics, or international trade.

Education Requirements:
This position requires successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in International business, Business, Management, Marketing, Commerce, Finance, Economics, or International studies.

Level 1, Basic:

Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:
Level 4 (Fluent) in English (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required. This may be tested.**
AND
Level 3 (Good working knowledge) in Hindi (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in New Delhi, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.
