Responsibilities:


  • As a consultant, engage with clients to
  • Define the approach and plan for database modernization and migration
  • Provide architectural leadership to Solution Architects to deliver thoughtful IT solutions in the area of database to the businessAs database architect for project delivery
Understand current state database design and recommend target state database design for Public and Private cloud Work with Stakeholders to gather, review and validate requirements (technical and business, analyze on-premises database environments (Relational, Non-Relational - NoSQL, Graph), plan and migrate them to target database engine (Open-Source, Cloud Native, DBaaS) Create standard delivery artifacts (migration document, diagrams, run books, backup/recovery plans, etc.) and execute migration and modernization of databasesCreate entity relationship diagrams, develop database physical and logical models, and setup and configure databases.
Develops and implements database deliverables, such as conceptual designs, logical designs, and capacity planning, external data interface specifications, data loading plans, data maintenance plans, and security policies. Creates, maintains and implements database best practices and standards to comply with applicable regulations; reviews, writes and maintains database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata). Develop and manage database stored procedures, functions and batch programs.

Understanding and ability to participate in all phases of the SDLC including requirements gathering, business analysis, configuration management and quality control desired.

In Offering and capability development Create database migration and modernization offerings based on market demand and develop delivery capabilities for its execution. Define reference architecture for new offerings and provide key differentiator inputs to offering teams in terms of new technology adoption in database area

  • Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in Database Development and Migration involving installation, testing and deployment of new databases, data conversion from Commercial DB's to Open Source DB's and cloud native databases Strong experience in data architecture with Application/Database replatforming across operating systems and database engines. Experience in ETL/ELT workflow management desired & ability to write, tune SQL queries desired
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with one or more automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform
  • Experience with containerization packaging, tooling, and DevOps method
