PURPOSE OF JOB

The NOC (Network Operations Center) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Network is responsible for providing expert knowledge and support for network infrastructure and technologies within an organization.

This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and business stakeholders, to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of the network services.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's or master's degree in telecommunications, information technology, or a related field.
Extensive experience in network administration and management, with expertise in LAN, WAN, and data center networks.
Indepth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, security, and load balancing technologies.

SKILLS & JOB COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Familiarity with network architectures, including virtual private networks (VPNs), Software-Defined Networking (SDN), and cloud networking.
Strong understanding of network monitoring and troubleshooting techniques, including network performance analysis and packet capturing.
Relevant certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent, are a plus

KEY ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the design and implementation of network infrastructure, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and data center networks.
Collaborate with network engineers and architects to define network architectures, protocols, and connectivity requirements based on business needs.
Configure and optimize network devices, such as routers, switches, and load balancers, to ensure efficient and secure data transmission.
Work closely with system administrators to ensure proper integration and connectivity of network systems with underlying infrastructure and services.
Monitor the performance, availability, and security of network infrastructure using network management tools and techniques.
Proactively identify and troubleshoot networkrelated issues, such as connectivity problems, network congestion, and performance degradation.
Perform root cause analysis for network outages or service disruptions, working with vendors and internal teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
Collaborate with network engineers and system administrators to diagnose and resolve complex network issues affecting network services.
Continuously evaluate and optimize network performance and capacity to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and business requirements.
Analyze network traffic patterns, bandwidth utilization, and latency to identify opportunities for improving network efficiency and performance.
