Job Summary


As a Virtual Telemedicine Assistant you will play a vital role in allowing effective communication and ensuring equal access to quality healthcare for individuals who may have limited English proficiency.

You will be supporting healthcare professionals by facilitating virtual patient consultations, ensuring smooth communication between patients and medical staff. Your tasks mainly include scheduling appointments, coordinating telemedicine sessions, and assisting with administrative duties.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • You will facilitate virtual patient consultations by coordinating and scheduling appointments, ensuring effective communication between healthcare providers and patients, and preparing patients for their telemedicine visits.
  • Your bilingual skills will be essential as you provide language support, translating medical information, instructions, and questions accurately to ensure clear communication and understanding between healthcare providers and Spanishspeaking patients.
  • It will be your responsibility to maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and protecting patient privacy.
  • You will play a vital role in coordinating followup care, helping to schedule diagnostic tests, specialist referrals, prescription refills, or home health services to ensure patients receive the necessary ongoing care.
  • Supporting various administrative tasks will be part of your duties, ensuring smooth workflow and providing exceptional patient service in the virtual care setting.

Requirements:


  • Reliable wired internet connection with a speed of at least 25 Mbps.
  • Computer/laptop with a minimum of Intel Core i3 processor or equivalent. Having a dual screen for increased productivity is a plus.
  • Operating system: Windows 10 or macOS (latest version) with regular updates.
  • RAM: Minimum 4 GB, preferably 8 GB or more for smoother multitasking.
  • Hard drive: At least 128 GB of free storage space for software and data.
  • Functioning webcam and microphone for clear communication.
  • Updated antivirus software to ensure data security and protection against cyber threats. Having a VPN is preferred but not required.
  • Reliable backup systems for electricity and internet outages are in place.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • A high school diploma or equivalent. Any additional healthcarerelated certifications or training in medical assisting, healthcare administration, or a related field are preferred but not required
  • At least 1 year of customer care experience, handling inbound and outbound calls, preferably in healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA policy
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage and coordinate virtual appointments, followup care, and administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Keen attention to detail to accurately record patient information, update medical records, and ensure data privacy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, resolve patient concerns, and adapt to challenges that may arise in a virtual telemedicine setting.
  • Able to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and cultural sensitivity in providing care to diverse patient populations, fostering trust and understanding.

Full-Time schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am EST - 5:00pm EST or 12:00pm EST to 9:00pm EST. Saturday to Sunday, 8:00am EST - 5:00pm EST or 11:00am EST - 8:00pm EST. With one hour lunch break during shift. On rotation schedule.

Full-Time: 35-40 hours per week.
