We are a team composed of analysts, data scientists, economists, mathematicians, statisticians and engineers.

Our group is part of the larger data organization at Chegg that focuses on enabling data and insights at scale.

We use a world-class set of instrumentation, analysis and data science technologies to transform our data into insights and then into knowledge.

While the analytics group is centralized, we heavily partner with our stakeholders to ensure insights delivered are directly usable for decision making and ultimately adds value to Chegg.

The role:
Data Scientist


We are looking for a highly motivated and a self-starter Data Scientist to help understand and build predictability around business performance; and support scoping, launch and measuring impact of product initiatives.

This person should be able to provide meaningful insights into business performance


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with crossfunctional team members located in different timezones to ensure efficient communication and coordination for project deliverables.
  • Analyse complex data sets using advanced analytical tools and techniques to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive strategic decisionmaking.
  • Conduct thorough research to gain a deep understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscape, customer behaviour, and industry trends.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to optimize operational processes, minimize risks, and drive continuous improvement within
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, new technologies, and emerging trends to enhance analytical capabilities and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define key performance metrics, track progress, and present insights and recommendations for business growth and development.
  • Take ownership of projects, ensuring timely and quality delivery of outcomes while efficiently managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Work with Business Intelligence and Data Engineering teams to ensure that the data solutions being built are aligned with Analytics requirements.
  • Build and automate dashboards and compelling data visualizations to provide meaningful insights into business performance and to effectively communicate findings, trends, and conclusions to diverse stakeholders. Working with marketing managers, data engineers and product owners to maintain and improve measurement capabilities.
  • Build thoughtful and detailed analytical models to support business cases.
  • Partner directly with business and product analysts to understand business needs for insights and analytics.

Requirements:


  • Bachelors'/Masters' Degree in Business/Marketing/IT/Statistics, specializing in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, or related fields.
  • To be available to work in Hybrid work arrangement.
  • 3+ years of experience in data visualization, data analysis, systems analysis, extracting data from multiple sources, transforming into meaningful information and delivering meaningful insights into business performance.
  • Experience working in on/offshore development model.
  • Experience working with crossfunctional teams in a fastpaced product company.
  • Selfmotivated, detail oriented, independent, organized, and proactive, highly responsive, flexible and adaptable when working across multiple teams.
  • Passionate about producing highquality analytics deliverables and communicating recommendations effectively to a broad audience.
  • Must have the drive to learn and master new dataaccess, manipulation, and transformation platforms.
  • Exceptional analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand and analyse complex business situations, market trends, and customer behaviour.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts and findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members from different cultures and timezones.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative, with excellent selfmanagement skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fastpaced, dynamic environment.

Analytical toolset:

  • Advanced SQL and data manipulation skills. Should be comfortable compiling data across multiple data sources. Should have experience working with data models
  • Handson experience working with Python programming and Databricks platform is preferrable.
