Introduction


The IBM AI Applications business unit is seeking talented and motivated SRE/DevOps professionals to work on the Maximo family of products.

In this role you will closely collaborate with the broader SRE team to design and implement the cloud deployment of Maximo set of products on AWS.

Support production customers in operational task such as upgrades, maintenance and infrastructure issues, where planned production maintenance is done on planned weekends.

Work on a daily basis with Product Owners, Architects, Release Managers and SRE Manager.

Proactively seek for improvements opportunities and innovation that matters by learning new technologies and methods that can positively impact the products.

Your Role and Responsibilities


This is a Database Administrator Position to work in P2PaaS Dataservices team, responsible for all infrastructure support for production environments in the IBM Cloud.

Most of the activities are performed in Couchbase, however Mongo and Cassandra are also a demand for this position.

The professional will have the opportunity to be in touch with best practices, techniques and tools, in a collaborative team, performing activities that includes setting up clusters, migrating data across clusters, backups to IBM COS, and various database tools and utilities.

The focus in automation is a must. It is an amazing opportunity to be part of an innovative, agile and global team.


Your Responsibilities:


  • Installation of Couchbase Enterprise software
  • Configuration of the buckets for the offerings
  • Troubleshoot issues with clusters
  • Determine appropriate configuration of hardware for the clusters
  • Implement security (setup of certificates, disable nonSSL communication).
  • Ensure all clusters are ITCS104, ISO, and SOC compliant as well as adhering to the associated standards
  • Supporting Cassandra and Mongo for pager duty rotation
  • Working with Couchbase Product support (create and resolve tickets, upload diagnostics, provide updates to the wider team)
Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Excellent knowledge of Couchbase, and solid foundation of Mongo and Cassandra
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux
  • Demonstrated experience in handling daytoday Operation, Alert, Incident support, Migration and breakfix support
  • Willingness to work in shifts or support 24 x 7 Coverage as per the Business needs
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Willingness to work in shifts or support 24 x 7 Coverage as per the Business needs
  • Good knowledge on shell scripting
  • Good knowledge on Ansible
