Accounts Payable Assistant to work in our
Tailormade Finance team at our office in Bangalore, India.

This team will be a fully coordinated part of the wider finance organization at Travelopia, which supports Travelopia and its associated businesses.

The role will report to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and will work closely with our finance functions in the UK and elsewhere.


What you will be doing:


  • Processing supplier invoices using either purchase order or nonpurchase orders matching tools and approval workflows; reviewing unauthorised invoices and following up on queries and approval delays
  • Review invoices and contracts validating discrepancies, issue deduction advice where overcharged
  • Process employee expenses and company credit card transactions
  • Verification of supplier payee and bank details
  • Prepare payment proposals ensuring payments are issued within agreed terms and according to payment timetables
  • Answer and resolve supplier queries and payment inquiries
  • Complete quarterly supplier statement reconciliations as advised by the Accounts Payable Team Leader
  • Lead direct debit supplier accounts download online invoices, obtain authorizations or match to PO's, create weekly direct debit payment runs
  • Daily and regular followup on unposted invoices
  • Process invoices received in Readsoft (OCR tool) and complete daily actions to clear AP mailboxes
  • Work closely with the AP Supervisor and Team Leader to ensure queries relating to invoice authorization issues are swiftly sophisticated

What we are looking for:


  • Proven track record in Accounts Payable preferably working with suppliers in Europe, North America, the Caribbean, or Asia, with minimum 3 years' experience.
  • Ability to work in a global and remote setup.
  • Experience in managing sophisticated issues and partner concerns, working with suppliers to promptly resolve disputes.
  • Ability to read and interpret sophisticated contracts.
  • Experience in working with SAP is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of the UK travel industry is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate an excellent understanding of what makes a strong Accounts Payable team.
  • Proficient in MS Office apps, with a particular focus on Outlook and Excel
  • Dynamic and flexible, able to react well to business and market changes
  • Highly organized and thorough in approach and demonstrates ability to prioritize own work and maintain focus
  • Takes initiative. Do not wait to be asked or told what needs doing.
  • The highest level of integrity, intellectual honesty, and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English is essential
  • Builds close and professional working relationships with nonfinance teams and suppliers
  • Sharp, thorough, and thoughtful, able to work independently and to targets.
