Role Responsibilities

Purpose


Partner the Financial Markets Cost Finance FP&A Lead at SG and responsible for the delivery of all FP&A to support cost performance management requirements of Financial Markets function within CCIB.

Provide value add through comprehensive understanding of financials, business context and analysis to support their decision making and strategic development.


Business Support

  • Ensure cost MI's are produced across the Financial Markets business hierarchies & accountable MT owners in a timely and accurate manner to enable effective cost performance management conversation and support strategic decision making
  • Ability to draw out and present the 'cost' story in a presentable format for senior management
  • Understand drivers for cost performance; drilldown & analyse the cost across actuals and plan
  • Analyse business performance (management and financial), review highlight risks and opportunities and drive actions to ensure committed financial outcome.
  • Participate in the challenge process with businesses, regions and functions on their cost number if not aligned to Financial Markets strategy
  • Indepth understanding of cost reporting structure, processes and systems
  • Participate, support & implement in the hierarchy aligned reporting requirements using a robust process which will cater to dynamic demand environments
  • Work with upstream and downstream teams to ensure that there is transparency in the cost numbers and the process
  • Lead the coordination and support for Financial Markets during cost forecasting, budgeting and monthly reporting cycles in engagement with CFO & Business teams of Financial Markets across Group, Regions & Countries
  • Facilitate inputs to the central CCIB cost function on all matters relating to Financial Markets cost towards WFRs, MBRs, Group Finance reporting requirements etc
  • Having control over all Financial Markets cost outcomes across varied processes including accounting and balance sheet accounts control
  • Participate and support to ensure impact on business performance outcomes is managed due to change in upstream or downstream processes and systems

Organizational Effectiveness

  • Contribute to any adhoc finance related projects, including providing support to Finance Transformation initiatives as well as simplification of bank process
  • Uphold the control and compliance culture in the bank

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant or MBA with 10+ years of relevant finance experience in FP&A.
  • Experienced in Cost FP&A
  • Effective communication skills, including presenting and influencing senior management.
  • A high degree of integrity and ability to challenge the views and actions of others in a constructive manner
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, multi task, lead through ambiguities, influence where he/she does not have direct authority & build on unstructured formative situations
  • Sound track record to secure the confidence and respect of the peers, stakeholders and the executive management team.
  • Strong analytical and strategic mindset, coupled with a thorough understanding of business performance management outcomes
  • Should have worked in a business finance function with strong FP&A background.
  • Significant experience of working with senior management team and of interfacing with and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to understand financial statements and its drivers and synthesize them into meaningful analyses as required. Develop analysis & interpretations as required to facilitate management decision making.
  • Ability to culturally orient in diverse & international team environment and lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
