The Chief Operating Office for Asset & Wealth Management is a centralized organization focusing on three key areas of growth inclusive of Fintech Strategic Initiatives, Product Operating Models, and Data Science and Analytics.

The
Portfolio Analysis Group ("PAG") is part of the Data Science and Analytics group within the COO function.

The
Portfolio Analysis Group is responsible for
performance measurement & attribution and portfolio analytics for external clients and
serves as a value-added source of insight, independent analysis and thought leadership for internal clients including portfolio managers, front office advisors, sales & marketing and senior management.

Analysis types and activities include, but are not limited to, rate of return calculations, return attribution, ex post risks, competitive analysis and performance composite construction, analysis & reporting.


This analysis is instrumental to help external clients understand means of return in their portfolios and help us internally measure the effectiveness of our products and strategies.



Job responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Provide the best client service experience by understanding our client's needs and developing relationships across the organization, specifically with Client Advisors, Portfolio Managers, Middle Office, Client Reporting, RFP teams and others. Become a key contributor to the department's efforts of improving systems and technology, by actively participating in projects, requirement gathering and testing of software and system tools
  • Maintain high standards of quality control checks and procedures; participate, develop and Preview controls for key business projects and business changes; be a enabler of improvements
  • Support management of an assigned book of business and maintenance of the firm's GIPS Composites. Support frontoffice / marketing teams / RFP Team as it pertains to composite performance. Support the annual GIPS verification
  • Collaborate and think creatively and deliver innovative solutions to our complex client demands, always striving to find ways to improve processes and service
  • Identify and correct data and process problems; engage with relevant internal teams to eliminate recurrent problems that impact our deliverables. Maintain and update the firm's policies and procedures as required by GIPS. Present performance concepts and GIPS updates to governance committees
  • Perform user acceptance testing and validation on system enhancements and conversions
  • Participate in industry discussions / requests for comments on performance and GIPS issues

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of portfolio accounting principles, and performance and attribution methodologies
  • Solid analytical ability to research and analyze complex data sets. Strong quantitative skills, comfortable with formulas, performance measurement methodology and risk measures
  • Interact and communicate effectively written and verbal throughout all organizational levels and roles including a strong client service mentality. Ability to communicate effectively with internal clients, third party consultants, auditors, custodians and across all employee experience levels throughout the greater organization
  • Ability to work towards tight deadlines. Ability to multitask seamlessly while rigorously maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Passion for the investments business and financial markets. Selfstarter who is analytical and creative in their thinking; ability to quickly analyze information and creatively reach solutions and execute their implementation
  • Experienced performance measurement professional with 7+ years of relevant experience including project experience and knowledge of GIPS. Understanding of the various businesses/products within the Asset management & Wealth management space
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Computer Science (or similar discipline) from an accredited, high quality institution preferred. CIPM/CFA or progress toward designation a plus
