JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for overseeing daily operations of Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry. Directs and collaborates with staff to ensure guestrooms, public areas, and employee spaces are well-maintained. Conducts inspections and ensures corrective actions are taken when needed. This role contributes to guest and employee satisfaction while managing the operational budget.


CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years of experience in housekeeping or a related field.
OR

  • 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited university; no prior work experience necessary.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES:

Managing Housekeeping Operations:

  • Ensures timely communication of guest room statuses to the Front Desk.
  • Collaborates with the Engineering department for guestroom maintenance needs.
  • Supervises the general cleaning schedule of the property.
  • Assigns tasks for immediate room cleaning and upcoming checkouts.
  • Monitors stock levels to maintain an adequate supply inventory.
  • Supervises daily Housekeeping shifts to ensure adherence to policies and standards.
  • Participates in procuring guestroom supplies, cleaning supplies, and uniforms.
  • Implements an effective inspection program for guestrooms and public areas.
  • Provides feedback to staff on areas needing improvement.
  • Assures employees have necessary supplies and equipment.

Managing Departmental Costs:

  • Manages controllable expenses to meet or exceed budget goals.
  • Understands the department's financial impact and manages operations accordingly.
  • Utilizes financial reports for informed decision-making.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service:

  • Addresses and resolves guest issues and complaints promptly.
  • Strives for continuous service improvement.
  • Encourages a culture of outstanding customer service among employees.
  • Focuses on enhancing guest satisfaction and service quality.

Conducting Human Resources Activities:

  • Participates in employee accident investigations as necessary.
  • Manages staffing levels to meet service and financial goals.
  • Ensures employees are aware of expectations and policies.
  • Administers policies and disciplinary procedures consistently.
  • Provides feedback on employee performance and behaviors.
  • Conducts on-the-job training and performance appraisals.
  • Assists in hiring and orientation of new employees.
  • Supports employee training programs and development initiatives.
  • Participates in disciplinary actions when required.
