Job responsibilities
- Under the supervision of a Senior Portfolio Manager, execute tactical and rebalancing trades in accounts and respond to any additional requests for needed investment activity. Assist Senior Portfolio Managers with Investment Management trading as needed.
- Under the supervision of a Senior Portfolio Manager, the incumbent will act as a resource for investment communication with trust clients, particularly cotrustees who share investment responsibility with the Bank
- Create trade proposals for Shared Authority accounts to execute on current tactical themes or address open risk items for assigned accounts
- Monitor accounts to ensure alignment with tactical guidance and address investment risks; including concentrated positions, asset allocation variances, excess cash levels, and account specific restrictions
- Conduct investment reviews to validate client investment objectives and ensure compliance with the investment mandate and risk guidelines
- Work with various internal partners to complete numerous business initiatives. Maintain knowledge of each account's unique requirements and sensitivities
- Relationship management with internal clients across all of the above. Deliver critical and time sensitive processes with high level of accuracy within agreed timelines
- An MBA or postgraduate degree in Finance or related area. Progress towards a CFA is a plus
- Minimum 5 plus years work experience in Financial Services or Trade Operations or Middle Office or Portfolio Management / Analytics
- Strong interest in financial markets and understanding of investment products
- Strong aptitude to identify and minimize investment / business and process risk
- Attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, ability to automate and improve processes using scripting languages (Python,R) would be a plus
- Detail and goal oriented, process focused
- Hard working, ability to operate in a fastmoving, demanding and team oriented environment
