Responsibilities:

Edit manuscripts for clarity, accuracy, and consistency, adhering to the house style guide.
Work with digital tools and software to layout pages, incorporate graphics, and prepare books for printing and digital publication.
Collaborate with authors, illustrators, and designers to develop and refine educational content.
Ensure all content is ageappropriate, factually accurate, and aligns with the educational goals for each grade level.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to strict deadlines and budget constraints.
Proofread final drafts to catch typos, grammar mistakes, and other errors.
Stay updated with the latest trends in educational publishing and technology.

Skills And Qualifications:

Meticulous attention to grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting.
Ability to analyze written material critically and provide constructive feedback.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple editing projects with tight deadlines.
Capacity to work collaboratively with writers and fellow editors.
Flexibility to adapt editing style based on project requirements and target audience.
Familiarity with editing software such as Microsoft Word's Track Changes feature and Adobe Acrobat.
