Brief on the Organization:


  • Project Brief:


The project aims to explain the global circulation of the current and emerging SARS-CoV-2 VOCs and their characteristics, including transmissibility, pathogenicity and propensity to cause re-infection, to support best control strategies and the development of diagnostics; evaluate the impact of VOCs on the effectiveness of different vaccines and vaccination strategies, and assess the implications of VOCs on the choice of optimal treatment options.

Under the END-VOC project, PHFI will contribute to elucidating the transmission, virulence, pathogenicity of the VOCs by supporting the generation and analysis of SARS-CoV-2 VOCs.


Additionally, a community-based Influenza like Illness (ILI) surveillance will be conducted by following-up households in the pre assigned study area for two-years period to measure the incidence of ILI, Influenza and COVID-19 illness.


  • Deliverables:
  • Conduct surveys among study participants in the study sites.
  • Visit the households regularly to collect data for communitybased weekly surveillance of Influenza likeIllness (ILI).
  • Collect nasal and throat swabs of household members with ILI for influenza and SARS-CoV2 virus.
  • Travel as and when required for training and other activities related to project.
  • Collecting data as and when required.
  • Any other work assigned by the Supervisor/PI.
  • Qualification:

Essential:


  • Senior Secondary School (Class XII)
  • Matriculate with post matriculation diploma in any area in medical field (MPHW/LAB TECHNICIAN)

Desirable:


  • Diploma in Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife or GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery).
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Nursing or other related degrees.
  • Experience:

Essential:


  • Around 2 years of experience in conducting communitybased surveys and interviews and/or collection of clinical data under diseases epidemiology based research projects.
  • Fluent in Telugu.

Desirable:


  • Demonstrated experience of working with the health system and with established relationships with health workers (ASHAs, ANMs, Anganwadi workers).
