Duties

Basic Function of the Position:
The position is located in the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) U.S. Embassy New Delhi. The position is that of the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) Training Management Assistant for all U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) military training provided to the Government of India (GOI) and the Kingdom of Bhutan (KOB).

The incumbent provides direct management of the State Department/DOD International Military Education and Training (IMET), Combating Terrorism Fellowship Program (CTFP) in India and Bhutan, manages Indian and Bhutanese attendance at U.S.

sponsored defense related seminars and conferences world-wide, and will be responsible for assisting the GOI and KOB in identifying, planning, and programming U.S.

training that will meet host country requirements and then conveying those requirements to their respective governments.

Responsible for logístical planning for students, data entry, doing in-depth and multivariate analysis and assessing host country military training needs and requirements and administrative support to the Budget Analyst/Program Specialist in carrying out day-to-day Training Management and administrative functions.

Incumbent makes contributions to ensure efficient management of training requirements such as planning, monitoring, evaluating, and results reporting.


The incumbent maintains the filing system (both electronic and paper files), scheduling activities and appointments, providing support for preparation of correspondence and documents, sharing relevant documents with other staff members, travel arrangements and liaising with the U.S.

Government (USG), GOI and KOB agencies and other offices that work in support of U.S. professional military training. Responsible for organizing, planning, and conducting pre-briefings and debriefings for each student prior to traveling to the U.S. for training. Prepares Invitational Travel Orders for all prospective students.

Advises both USG, GOI and KOB on programs that support host country requirements and arranges logistic support for students as and when required and registers visitors on the visitors' list.

S/he performs liaison functions with multiple U.S.

services headquarters/agencies, Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Ministry of Homeland Affairs (MHA), Ministry of Defence (MOD), Army Headquarters, Air Headquarters, Naval Headquarters, Coast Guard Headquarters, Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and civilian organizations for the purpose of coordination and administrative support related to the training program.

The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Evaluations


Requirements:


EXPERIENCE:
This position requires three years of administrative or clerical experience.

This position requires successful completion of two years of college studies.
