Strategy Intern role will be initially part of GDS Client Service Operations and later on moved to Service Line based on demand/ deployment.


Job Summary:

  • GDS is currently developing a pool of strategy professionals who can be trained and made available for Strategy/Business Transformation/ Digital Transformation/ Wavespace engagements.

Purpose of the Job:

Develop/sharpen skills to be client ready (Initial 1-2 months)

  • Attend trainings relevant to Business/ Digital Transformation, Strategy, Wavespace and Design Thinking
  • Attend wavespace orientation sessions
  • Attend Service Line orientation trainings and understand the skill needs of Business/Digital Transformation and Strategy engagements.
  • Sharpen skills on Business/Sector research, MS Power Point, MS Excel, Power BI etc.
  • Support service line requirements on research, strategy, wavespace and business/digital transformation.
  • Familiarize with case studies relevant in these domains and able to understand the big picture, objectives and expectation in client engagement.
  • Imbibe the attitude to constantly improvise and innovate is very important

Engagement Delivery

  • Play the role of a team member or senior in the delivery of Business/ Digital Transformation, Strategy or Wavespace engagements.
  • Actively participate and contribute in wavespace sessions organized for internal or external clients.
  • Prepare high quality research reports or presentations on business or sector related topics
  • Prepare high quality presentations summarizing the key discussion points and plan of actions discussed in wavespace sessions.
  • Prepare high quality current state assessment reports identifying the gaps in the current processes and systems and future state recommendations for business/ digital transformation.
  • Prepare high quality reports on business strategies.
  • Taking accountability of allocated delivery and engagement in service delivery to deliver top quality
  • Consistency in exhibiting strong analysis, insight building capabilities as well as executive presence
  • Selflearning and constant seeking to gain relevant knowledge and pursue excellence
  • Able to manage stress of tight schedules and responsibly be committed to meet delivery timelines is essential

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

(Describe the types of challenges typically faced and the decisions required to be made that are necessary to perform the job. Focus on the nature of existing policies, precedents and procedures and the degree to which the incumbent is free to make decisions requiring interpretation and judgment)

  • Use research and internal EY reports and other materials to come up with future state options for client issues identified in current state assessment
  • Knowledge on Strategy and analytics tools/methodologies will be preferred and very relevant.
  • Capability to design surveys and build insights by analysing survey for personas and patterns will be important.
  • Critical thinking and logical reasoning to substantiate observations and analysis is a must
  • Ability to develop alternatives and suggest best suited solution to problems will be important quality
  • Prepare weekly dashboards or reports to track project progress.
  • Proactive in dealing with issues and strong problemsolving skills; ability to work with ambiguity and build consensus across diverse, often global groups
  • Ability to work both independently and within teams, including virtual teams, with a focus on our culture and values

Knowledge, Competency and Skills Requirements:

  • Strong research skills
  • Strong research and Insight building capability
  • Interest in Management consulting, Digital technology, Analytics, competitive intelligence, Outsourcing, Business operations will be very relevant differentiators.
  • Strong command over English language both oral and written
  • Strong power point and MS excels. Experience in analytics and visualization tools like R/Python/Alteryx/Power BI etc. is desirable.
  • Experience of making a contribution to business decision making and strategic planning discussions

Supervision Responsibilities:


  • Role will report through CS Operations to MENA and Japan Account
