Web Software Design:

  • Participates in designing a component of a webbased or webenabled software product.

Human-Centered Design (HCD): Knowledge of Human-Centered Design model, principle, and concepts; ability to understand the perspective of people who experience a problem, their needs, and provide them with a solution which truly meets their needs effectively.

  • Follows related guidelines to identify new, advanced, and readily acceptable initiatives.
  • Defines the problem carefully to ensure that no assumptions for causes or solutions are implied and the desired outcome is clear.

  • Gathers and compiles required information to recommend a solution.
  • Presents prototypes to sponsor users and makes suggestions based on the feedback.

  • Assesses tools and facilities for graphic mockups and expected end results.
  • Participates in user experience design walkthrough.
  • Participates in usability audits for existing systems.
  • Applies basic human factors and concepts for the design of effective screens and reports.
  • Assists with screen blueprints and story boards during the user experience design process.

User Interface Design:

Knowledge of activities, practices, deliverables and considerations; ability to design effective graphic user interfaces for delivery of information to the client's desktop workstation.

  • Reports common design flaws and usability problems.
  • Participates in the design of a graphic user interface.
  • Assists in developing dynamic graphics and tutorials with Macromedia Flash.
  • Analyzes features of windows, menus, cue cards, dialogboxes and icons.
  • Generates key factors and information needed to effectively create interface designs.

Level Working Knowledge:

  • Assists in collecting and preparing business requirements and documentation for specific caseloads.
