Join Team Amex and let's lead the way together.- Global Compliance & Ethics (GCE) team at American Express is part of Global Risk & Compliance Organization and plays a critical role in protecting the Company, our brand and colleagues through practical, solution-focused guidance on regulatory and ethics-related matters.- Beth Provanzana leads the GCE Organization.

As our Global Chief Compliance Officer, she and her team maintains and continually enhances a comprehensive and highly effective compliance program across the company.- Colleagues at GCE are from varied professional backgrounds who all work together with a common goal to ensure the integrity of the company & the brand.- Compliance is the company's second line of defense.

GCE has evolved over time to adsorb diverse functions of compliance and provide support & oversight to our first line colleagues- Compliance colleagues work together to continually forge more effective testing, processes, and controls based on an ever-evolving regulatory landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform compliance operation activities supporting the Market Compliance Officers for International market like overseeing and/executing the market communication, anticorruption due diligence activities, etc
  • PRSA Development/SOX control Development:

Identify testing requirements at the process level through their risk assessment process and incorporate these testing requirements as part of the PRSA program- Conduct the Risk Assessment Questionnaires (RAQ) and Business Unit Matrix (BUAM), which establishes processes as they link to current mandates.

Alongside, draft Process Flows Controls, and Testing Criteria for the PRSAs being implemented- Regular and timely dialogue and communication with the local Market Compliance Officers, Operational Excellence and Business for compliance activities and PRSAs

Qualification & Skillset required:

  • Good academic qualification with experience in compliance or legal would be an added advantage. Chartered Accounts, Law Graduates, CPA, ACAMS, MBA and individuals with certifications in audit would be preferred.
  • Strong internal control and validating testing skills. Experience in audits/ SOX testing related to Anti-money Laundering, Data privacy and corruption will be an added advantage
  • Ability to work independently from understanding the regulation, designing enterprise/market specific controls in accordance with the regulatory requirements, execution of fieldwork testing, communication of findings to business and to reporting gaps.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills including the ability to conceptualize and break down complex issues into actionable tasks.
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, results and solution oriented, and personal accountability and resiliency.
