Your way to impact
This role offers a unique opportunity to innovate and improve PayPal's Pay Later's credit risk strategy. Design, develop and maintain data-driven solutions for PayPal credit risk management. Make sound decisions that balance risk, user experience and financial performance. Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results on matters of significance to the business. Develop and automate tracking functionality that monitors volume and solution efficacy.

Provide the appropriate framing of business problems, define project plans and work breakdowns, setting timelines and quality metrics for the project, and coordinating activities of cross-functional teams to deliver effective solutions.

Your day to day

Mine data covering a wide range of information from user profile to transaction details to solve risk problems that involve classification, clustering, pattern analysis, sampling, simulations. Leverage data to conduct Pay Later business program and initiative analytics, monitoring, and reporting with scalable and flexible platform
Conduct a 360 credit risk framework that covers risk lifecycle metrics and customer experience/engagement metrics for decisioning and drive cross team collaboration. Conduct ongoing performance overview to senior leadership team
Carry out independent research and innovation in new content, ML and technological domains. Trouble shooting any data, system and flow challenges while maintaining flawless strategy execution

What do you need to bring

Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Finance, Economics or related quantitative discipline.
Prior experience in lending, credit risk management, or related field.
4+ years postcollege working experience within a datamining, quantitative research or analytics organization.
Must be an intuitive, organized analytical thinker, with the ability to perform detailed analysis.
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills a must including the ability to explain and/or present analysis.
Must have good business judgment with demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically.
Aptitude and willingness to rollup the sleeves and get involved in the details.
Proficiency in SAS, Python and SQL.
