  • Legal General provides support, guidance and advice to Global Banking & Markets, Wealth & Personal and Commercial Banking Customers relating to distinct and diversified customer queries. The same includes businesses from small enterprises and midmarket companies to large multinationals along with Individuals banking with HSBC. The Legal General further supports Group Legal in due diligence reviews globally including risk assessment and monitoring, information and cyber security reviews and end to end on boarding. Provide counsel and legal support on a variety of legal matters, or in a specialist area. Ensure that completed documentation provides appropriate credit and legal protection for the Bank.

The Opportunity:


  • To undertake negotiation and execution of Non
  • Disclosure Agreements including back to back, reliance / release letters, Facility Agreements
  • Well versed with negotiations around Nondisclosure agreements, Contracts Act, Company Law, Partnership Act, Competition Law and other related legislations to conduct proper due diligence on various entities/customers in order to on board such clients globally
  • Assist the team with Migration process for any new or addition of scope of work
  • Ensure completion of monthly MI and business decks as required from time to time
  • Provision of legal advice that is succinct, easy to understand, and adds value by identifying the root cause of the problem
  • Required to display Leadership and team work for efficient completion of work
  • Responsible for the updating all internal database in a timely manner
  • Ensuring management information and ad hoc reports are produced in a timely manner
  • Responsible for each case/requests received until its completion, work will require quick turnaround time, involves frequent chasing and follow up with severe ownership implications
  • Must be able to coordinate between various departments across the Bank which includes both onshore and offshore stake holders
  • Must have good judgmental skills to balance between seeking clarification and taking ownership of the checking process

  • To be considered to be a trusted adviser to the business by ensuring that commercially sensitive, pragmatic and practical legal support and advice is provided in a costeffective manner for assigned areas
  • Active participation and contribution in all quality initiatives within the team/process both for improvement of productivity & quality
  • Understand and comply with all relevant policies and procedures issued by the Group and contained with the Group Standards Manual and relevant Functional Manuals, Desk Instructions Books and Process Guides
  • Communicate effectively with team members, internal and external customers and other parts of GBM as required

What you'll do:


  • Responsible for of all deliveries out of Bangalore (NDA team) from a quality and TAT standpoint
  • Responsible for work load management and delivery of volumes and quality which will include assigning and allocation of tasks in timely and in an accurate manner
  • Ability to manage reviews of time critical and/or complex NDA negotiations and reviews
  • Ability to collaborate with and leverage senior team members to utilize them effectively in the broader work management.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work across different time zones
  • Promote a strong sense of teamwork to ensure all areas work collaborative and as efficiently as possible
  • Responsible for conceptualizing and creation of robust MIS for business head and business partners to facility effective performance monitoring and review
  • Be responsive and focused on client service
  • Conduct trainings from time to time, focusing on building strong backups and keep upskilling the team. Should be able to position more people
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders and team members in creating and updating effective documentation including checklists, guides to enable consistency in the policy points and streamline the process Need to implement the Group Compliance Policy, as applicable to their role
  • Ability to identify and lead process related Change initiatives. Ability to spot and understand any change or gap in expiations. Should be able to streamline the process to meet changing expectations or gaps identified
  • Need to be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with their role, and to ensure that all actions during their employment with HSBC take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring
  • Ensure the offshore and onshore teams operate and engage as a single "virtual" team
  • First point of contact for all queries raised by Bangalore team
  • Have the ability to work autonomously with the appropriate escalations to the Bangalore lead
  • Ensure yearly version update of procedures and Business Head approval is obtained
  • Conduct ongoing Quality Checks for all drafts prepared by team
  • Maintain HSBC interna
