Mumbai Mobile Creches is a non-profit organisation that has supported the health, safety and education of children living on construction sites for the last four decades.
It runs comprehensive day care centres on construction sites, serving children who are among the most vulnerable of the urban poor.
It has been a pioneer in developing early childhood education programmes and curriculum. In Mumbai, it serves over 3500 children through approximately 25 centres every year.Mumbai Mobile Creches is seeking an experienced person for the position of Program Officer.
The Program Officer will be responsible for the following:
- To ensure proper functioning of the Day Care Centers and implementation of the programs
- To build rapport with the community, ensuring children's enrolment at MMC centre.
- To ensure smooth implementation of comprehensive programme health, education and nutrition in all DCC in coordination with programme team
- To coordinate and inform on new centre opening and centre closing to other Programme Coordinator and Administration Manager.
- To ensure enrolment of all the children in nearby schools and follow up for retention in school.
- To identify children in need of educational scholarship and ensure the completion of the process with proper documentation and progress reports.
- To coordinate and follow up on various health services with Government departments / municipal health posts, ICDS, other trusts and organisation's.
- To monitor the health status and needs of the enrolled children by ensuring the completion of regular health checks.
- To closely monitor recording height and weight data and other anthropometric measurements.
- To coordinate and follow up on hospital referral and malnourished children (SAM & MAM) and monitor their regular growth and development.
- To assist and support the Chief Executive as and when required
- To coordinate and organize age appropriate immunization for all MMC children and keep a close check on immunization data/records.
- To regularly review the progress of programme implementation against plans and submitting all reports within the given timelines for internal use and funders.
- To establish and strengthen linkages with related stakeholders such as donors and volunteers, Site office and Builders.
Qualification
- A Master's degree in Social Work
- With 3 to 4 years' proven experience in program management
- Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Fluency in English, Hindi and Marathi are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS word is essential.
