Job Title:
Speech and Drama/Theatre Teacher

Job Description:


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons in speech, drama, and theatre arts for students of various age groups.
  • Teach acting techniques, voice projection, stage presence, improvisation, and other performance skills.
  • Plan and direct rehearsals for school productions, plays, and performances.
  • Organize and oversee drama clubs, workshops, and extracurricular activities.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their acting and public speaking skills.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate drama and theatre into the curriculum.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
  • Stay current on trends and developments in theatre education and the performing arts industry.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a Speech and Drama/Theatre Teacher or professional actor/director.
  • Strong knowledge of theatre arts, acting techniques, and public speaking.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring students in the performing arts.
  • Ability to work with students of all ages and skill levels.
  • Certification in drama education, theatre arts, or related field is a plus.
